This is a owl flight simulator. I thought the gameplay was fairly enjoyable once you got the grip on it.

I came fairly late into this project.

For this game I worked mostly as a de facto system designer. I did dress up some areas and implemented quite a few optional missions. But my major work was to balance the game.

I didn't stay to the very end of the project so some things I don't know about could have been changed last minute.

Most of the work was already done. But every level builder put as many enemies and enemy types into his level as he wanted to.

So I took on the job to balance the entire game. First we decided when to introduce new enemy types. Then we sat down and gave a rating to each enemy type between 1 and 6, where 6 is the toughest.

I created a database where I could use these numbers for a calculated chart of the difficulty of each encounter. It worked pretty well. The entire game chart would change if we would change the values of an enemy and modify their strength or health. We only had to change one number.

This is a screenshot of the access database. It also allowed to write down every little note about the game, things that sometimes disappears over time in the pile of notes we keep on our desks.
