New In Version January 2026
What is new in the update from January 2026? - This update is a clean up and optimization of the UI3.
A lot has changed over the years and some of the blueprints and workflows became a bit convoluted to keep it consistent with older versions. This update breaks compatibility with older versions.
Some settings will be lost if a project is updated from a version released before 2026.
You can keep using the older version for engine 5.3 and migrate it to a project made with a new engine version.
Any new features will now only be added to version 5.5 or later.
Content:
Info Map and Data
VariablesVariables and categories have been repositioned to navigate the info map a bit easier.
Restore Previous Session
The app will be restored to the last save or loaded slot id of the most recent user.

A pop up will show when hovering above a variable. A short text will explain what the variable does and how to use it.
Data Tables
Features with Preview, Designers, Settings, Buttons, and more have there data stored in Data Tables. The features are now set up as before but in the Data Tables. Data Tables can be shared.

Layout data is now always stored in a Data Table. The Feature ID is the "Row Name" of the feature's row in its Data Table.
Main Menu Position can now be set to top or bottom. This is only a first step.
The Menu Hint and icon on the right side of the main menu buttons can hidden.

Settings and Buttons
ButtonsEach Button's data is stored separately in the Data Table assigned to DT_ButtonDetails
Button Features are groups of buttons (mostly two) that can be placed in the Main Menu. The same Button Features that used to be in previous version are pre-assembled in the data table DT_ButtonFeatures. Use the Row Name as the Feature ID.

Settings Groups
Settings Groups are a group of sliders and optionally a group of Buttons that can be defined in the Data Table assigned to DT_SettingsGroups.
Use the Row Name of the Settings Group in the Settings Feature to place settings into the menu.
Settings
Most settings in the app are defined by a slider stored in the Data Table assigned to DT_Settings.
The Default Value will be loaded at app start if the tick box for Load Default is ticked. This will apply to all sliders. No matter if they are used in the menu or not.

Editing and Design
Edit Mode WidgetStatic Meshes can now have their materials and the mesh changed separately.
- All Meshes need to use the same material at the same material ID
- Show Both Mesh and Mat Buttons needs to be set as Mesh Variation Type in the Variation Actor.
Vertical choices lists are disabled in this version.

The Variation Actor's choices can now be linked to a Data Table.
Choices Buttons
Datatable Row Name will be used for Choice Buttons and
Materials.
Copy Buttons From Datatable will do exactly that. Untick
the box to unlink and modify the Choices Button Details, like changing
the price for the choice.
Material Choices
Copy Materials From Datatable links the Material Choices, similar as to the buttons above.

Mesh Choices
Copy Meshes From Datatable will copy the data from the Data Table row with the Mesh Row Name. This can be the same row as for the other choices or a different row.
Object Name will be the display name for the mesh choice.
Cost Behaviour
The Cost can be either set in the Material or Mesh choice or can be a sum of both values.

Data in the data table can be shared over multiple Variation Actors. This can reduce the amount of repetitive work and reduce inconsistencies between actors, scenes, and projects.
The same datatable can also be used to set up Designers.

Designer
Designer and ScenariosThe assets in a streamed level will be set to the current choices.
Target Actor
Can be set per designer and individually per Designer Element. Variation Actor Streaming in or out will take the price and quantity from the Variation Actor with the same Tag name. The Choices Buttons data is always taken from the Designer Element.
Choices Data Table
Designer can use data from the same data table used for Variation Actors.
Overwrite Choice Button Prices
If ticked, the array overwrites the Price set in the Choice Button with the same ID. Doesn't affect the Quantity

Unit Info Widget
Single Unit DataThe data for the Unit Info widget is now stored in Variables located in the Multi Unit Data section. Below the set of the Data Tables.

User Data and Saves
User Data ManagementUser Data is set to Local User Manager by default. This works for standard single unit scenes. Data Source only affects the Unit Info.
Save Set ID
Can be ignored for standard projects. It allows multiple save sets within the same project. - In case the set is 1, then:
- GameDefaults1.sav will be the save game defaults that hold the last user and the last save slot used.
- Defaults10 is where the scene default choices are saved when the game starts.
- Stefan14 is the 4th save slot for user Stefan
