Variation Actor

Variation And Object Info Actors
The Variation Actor is the link between the User Interface and the Assets in the scene, so they can be edited.
The Object Info displays information without editing.

Variation and Object Info Blueprint Actors
These two actors are the link from the scene to the user interface. Actor and scene object need to be in the same level.Variation Actor
This actor is used to edit or change assets in the scene.
The icon colour will change depending on what the Variation Actor Type is set to.
. Red indicates a possible error
. Pink indicates linked to Designer
Object Info Actor
This can be used to provide information about the asset, without changing it.

Settings can now be taken from a Data Table. Data can be shared between variation actors across projects or within a scene.
The data will be copied to the variation actor and can still be modified in each actor, if necessary. Or it can be entered without using the data table.
Datatable Row Name
The row that will be used from the data table.

Choices Buttons
Each array index is a choice button. The button here is the main widget button. It can change materials, meshes, both, or external actors.

Copy Buttons from Datatable
Tick the box to use data from the data table defined in the general settings. You may need to tick the box twice if changes are made to the data table.
If unticked the data in the variation actor can be modified.
Preview Icon
Can be created from a icon texture and the icon tint. Custom textures can also be used.

Material Choices
Copy Materials from DatatableWill copy the materials from the defined data table row<
Material Choices
Add an array for each material ID that needs variation materials. Then set the material choices for that ID.
Then do the same for another material ID. In the example the 2nd material ID has the striped material.

Mesh Choices
Mesh Variation TypeThe mesh can be linked to the material choice or be changed independently.
Datatable and Row Name
Data from the datatable can be used. The row name can be defined here to allow the use of separate data for mesh and materials
Mesh Transforms
Mesh Variations can be transformed to match each others position in the scene.

Object Info
The Object Info blueprint can display information for linked assets. It works similar to the Variation Actor.
Info Type
- Object Info displays information as seen in the image
- Unit Info is used in multi unit projects to mark a unit in the building
List Name
The name displayed in the Edit Widget and reports.
Object Info
The information for the object. It's the same variable as in the Variation Actor and can be copied back and forth.
